Hamburg’s Christmas Market takes place by the Town Hall with over 100 merchants setting out their stalls and shops on Hamburg’s largest square. On offer will be roast apples, hand-crafted ornaments and the quaint cottages designed by Bernhard Paul, director of the Circus Roncalli. Look out for Tyrol woodcarvers, Aachen bakers and their famous “printen” cookies , gingerbread makers from Nuremberg, pottery from the Lausitz, Silversmiths and many other craftsmen ready to show you the best of their skills for the Advent season. 2011 sees a featured Nordic Lane themed on Hamburg’s traditionally close links with the Baltic and Scandinavia.
